DIGGING PATCHES AND SANDPITS

Sand pits and digging patches can be constructed using artificial rock as pictured below or natural stone placed around to create an interesting and authentic look. Both sand pits and digging patches can also be built into the ground with a brick or tiled copping forming the leading edge surrounding the sand. These can be either contoured in many different shapes or straight edged. All our sand pits have a drainage system installed to the base of them allowing water to drain away freely.We use double washed beach sand for our sand pits and river sand can be used on request. A special blend of soil is used in digging patches reducing the likelihood of compaction.

Water play can be added to the sandpits and include hand pumps, water trays, creeks, and sand tables. Artificial rocks can be built within the sand pits and make effective play benches which children can use for sand play or seating. The rocks are hand made to resemble smooth river stones and can be made into any size or shape. many colour combinations are also available.

We can also custom build 3D shapes from wetpour rubber in the form of domes, hills, animals, or what ever you require. These can add to the play experience and create a colourful impression. The 3D shapes are built on site and can be used almost anywhere throughout the playground.

SANDPIT ENCLOSURES

Our sand pit enclosures are designed to be locked up at the end of each day without the need for a removable cover. They are constructed from powder coated steel frames with mesh and include 70 to 90% shade cloth to the colour of your choice. The enclosures are designed to keep unwanted people and cats out, during out of school hours while providing a safe play environment for the children. We can design an enclosure to suit any new or existing sand pit or play area with a range of colours. These enclosures are custom designed to suit your playground and include many different shapes depending on your requirements.
